How the calculator works

Each estimate is weight × spot price per gram × purity × buyback rate. Spot price comes live from gold-api.com (USD per troy ounce, converted to per gram using 1 oz = 31.1034768 g).

Palladium purity reference

Palladium jewelry uses a narrower set of hallmark standards than gold or silver. The calculator covers the three real-world tiers:

Note: catalytic-converter palladium, dental-alloy palladium, and electronics scrap use different assay and pricing processes — this tool is for jewelry and bullion only.

Why 70–90% buyback rates?

Palladium scrap sits in a similar buyback range to gold and platinum — 70–90% of metal value. Professional refiners with clean-lot pricing pay near the top; pawn shops and mall kiosks sit at the bottom. 80% is a useful mid-market target. Palladium's thinner secondary market can mean wider spreads than gold, so getting multiple quotes matters more.

Estimates are indicative only. Actual offers vary by buyer, testing method, lot size, and market conditions. Palladium prices have historically been more volatile than gold or silver — the shown spot may lag the true market by up to 60 seconds due to caching.
